Hefei General Machinery Research Institute pressure vessel inspection station (hereinafter referred to as the pressure vessel inspection station) is an inspection agency for pressure-bearing equipment sector invested and established by Hefei General Machinery Research Institute according to the approval of the Ministry of Machinery Industry in May 1993. In 1994 the pressure vessel inspection station passed the joint examination by the professional safety and health and boiler pressure and vessel supervision bureau of Ministry of Labor and the Quality and Safety Department of Ministry of Machinery Industry, and was granted the qualification for inspection of category I, II and III in-service pressure vessels. In 2004, the station passed the supervision and examination organized by the special equipment bureau of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the PRC. In 2005, it passed the examination of the quality, occupational health and safety management system in accordance with GB/T19001-2000 and GB/T28001-2001, and established and perfected the quality management system. The pressure vessel inspection station is a secondary unit of management by objectives for archiving work of the provincial institutions examined and authorized by the Archives Bureau of Anhui Province. In July 2005, it smoothly passed the examination for certificate renewal approval by review group of safety supervisory bureau for special equipment of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the PRC, and obtained the approval certificate.
Through the authorization and approval by the safety supervision bureau for special equipment of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the PRC, the pressure vessel inspection station can undertake ultrahigh pressure vessel inspection (RD1), spherical tank inspection (RD2), category III pressure vessel inspection (RD3), category I and II pressure vessel inspection (RD4), public utility pipeline inspection (DD2) and periodic inspection of industrial pipelines (DD3). Furthermore, the pressure vessel inspection station undertakes such works as the supervision and safety assessment of pressure vessels and research, development, consulting and service etc. of inspection technology of pressure vessels and pressure pipelines.
The pressure vessel inspection station combines inspection with scientific research, boasts a team of personnel who have professional skills and high quality and have the courage to challenge formidable tasks and possesses relatively complete inspection equipments and test devices. As one of the units in China earliest undertaking the inspection, failure analysis and safety assessment of pressure vessels, up to now, the station has undertaken and successfully completed the inspection, examination and safety assessment of over 7,000 units of various types of pressure vessels and more than 700km pressure pipelines in such sectors as of chemical engineering, oil refining, petrochemical engineering, non-ferrous metal, metallurgy, light industry, etc. in over 20 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China, has accumulated rich experience in practice and won recognition and good reputation from customers.
